All call for Mother's advice

Okay Mothers out there,
How do I get Tyler to stop playing in (and eating) the dogs food and water, and how do I get him to stay close and not run off in the front.  I do time outs, but apparently that is not effective with the dog food.  I need ideas and advice!!

Allergies

It's bad enough my kids have allergies, but now my dog has them.  At least I can stop worrying he has fleas, he itches because he has dermatitis!

The long awaited Alex Update

Alex is now 2 months old!! Holy cow how does it go by so fast, sorry guys, I've been a serious slacker. Every time I make it to the computer someone needs me.

boys watching TV

Ty is still learning what life is all about with a baby brother and has starting a biting trend that is getting us into big trouble, but all in all he's coping pretty well with no longer being the center of the universe. Staying home with dad and mom having to work has taught him some good independence, and he likes to show mom Alex's nose, bellybutton and eyes - though that one we have to be real careful of. He can also say his name "Ale" , but only when Grandma asks. But this is supposed to be an update on Alex so...

His Father's son

Alex is a happy baby, he wakes up and grunts and stretches, leading to fussing and crying if I take to long to get up, which happens on tired mornings. Then we change the diaper and he stretches and looks around while I wash my hands, so patient, then he eats. It takes about 10 minutes and he's full and content, super fast, then he practices head control while I burp him. He takes forever to burp and I have to keep him propped up or he spits up.

Bonding with G-ma Torrie

Also, now and again something in my diet (I'm suspecting dairy and/or strawberries) makes him spew! He sounds like a geyser and it comes out of mouth and nose and just covers him and everything around him, it's so sad. He's patient with it though and kicks back as I clean him up, it's not often it upsets him, but can happen. I think he feels better after.

Both the boys love tummy time on daddy, I think because he's such a warm body

Then his favorite thing is to sit with you and chat back and forth (he's got good stories) or he's content to sit in his swing or on a pillow (propped up so he's less likely to spit) He'll fuss a little for his binki or he'll page to make sure we're still there and still know he's there.

Hanging out with the boys

Then he'll start to cry and I'll change his diaper and swaddle him and put him somewhere to sleep. It may take some binki fetching, but he eventually drifts off and we start again.

freaky eyes

Granted it's not always a perfect routine, and he is starting to vie for more attention as he's getting older, but that makes sense to me. Also he has quite a fussy time from about 8 to... about 1 am, but I tell myself it's just good it's after Ty goes to sleep. It takes a lot of patience though and more then once I've had to leave him with dad and go sleep because I was going to loose it... or already lost it.

So cute!

He's also getting so big. Torrie left for the weekend and said he grew just over the four days. I was excited for the Dr. apt yesterday so I could find out how big he is...
10 lbs 10 oz
That's huge! I think Ty was atleast 6 months before he was 10 lbs! Granted Ty's tiny, but it was so nice not to have the doctor drill me about why he isn't gaining weight!

Time with Dad

He's also 23 1/4 inches tall and his head is 15:14. He's in the 25th percentile for weight, so not huge to everyone else, just me, and the 50th percentile for height (for my kid, woohoo) Guess he's trying to catch up to his long piano fingers.

How could you not love him!

Everyday he grows and changes and he's starting to smile more and more, not just in his sleep. Every now and then he makes a face or a sound that proves he's Ty's brother and it's so funny, yet he's all his own too. I love seeing how similar and different they are.

Sweet smile

His favorite thing is his bath and he just sits back and kicks his legs. Especially yesterday after his vaccinations and his legs were sore. Poor little guy cried every time he kicked. Thank goodness for Tylenol. But other than that he doesn't seem to have a bad reaction.

Trying out the Bumbo
Yesterday we put him in it again and he's already bigger
I like how it looks like he's drumming his fingers

All in all he's doing great and we are so happy to have him. Even Ty loves him, and I'm so excited to see them get bigger and be able to play (and fight) together. I have the cutest little boys in the world and I just LOVE being a mom!

Congratulations!!

Congratulations to Jared who just made it into the ASU Architecture program!! I'm so proud of you and know you are going to be awesome!!

Happy Father's Day!

I wanted to take a minute and recognize my awesome husband this father's day.

first trip to Cali before we were dating in the fall of '06 (Steph was there too)

Trip to take photos in Sedona, dating or engaged, I don't remember which

Portraits in Sedona, this time married and pregnant with Ty

I don't know what I would do without Jared. Since we've met he is one of the most selfless people I know. He does so much for me and the boys as well as his mom and sister.

Two studs, ready for church

We have had several trials since getting married 3 years ago but our relationship has never wavered, and I look back on these 3 years as the best of my life. Not only is he the best husband (sorry girls, I got the best one), but he is also the best Dad. Tyler just loves his Daddy!! When he wants to play he goes looking for him, if he's tired he'll snuggle with him, he loves playing video games with him, and especially wrestling with him.

4th of July '09

Then, after playing rough with Tyler, he turns around and is so gentle and careful with Alex. He's been primary care giver for Ty for the last several weeks while I was too tired and uncomfortable to lift and take care of him the last weeks of pregnancy and since Alex has been born. He's been getting meals, changing diapers, as well as taking care of his normal day to day things. He's always been a big help when I need him, and I love him more than I could ever say in a blog. He's the best (told you). And I am so grateful for him.
Happy Father's Day Jared, I love you!

Father of two!

Welcome Alexander Jacob

Alexander Jacob Malone
was born on June 10, 2010 (exactly on his due date)
He was 7 lbs and 10 oz and 20 inches long
He has been declared medically perfect by his pediatrician and he is absolutely adorable.

Though you can't see it in these pictures he has a head full of short black hair and a dark olive skin complection, much darker than Tyler was!

He's a sweetheart that LOVES to snuggle and only cries when he's hungry or at 3 in the morning when he doesn't feel good, don't ask why it's always at 3 am.

He's got a sweet disposition and will just sit in his crib and look around after being fed, perfectly content. He also has the most heartbreaking lip quiver when he cries.

Tyler already loves him and gives him kisses, as well as head-butts, which I'm trying to curb. But whenever he cries Tyler is the first to run to his side and gets quite upset when I don't hurry to help him. He's always spying on him in the pack and play and loves to hold and touch him, though we are working on "being soft", because he is a boy and just doesn't really understand the whole gentle consept. But I think Ty is going to LOVE having a baby brother.

Picture outing

We went out to get some Senior pictures and decided to get some family ones too. Enjoy. These aren't all edited yet, they're just the raw forms. I don't want to wait (because who knows when that will get done!)

Our little Mozart

Happy St. Patty's Day

What better way to celebrate St. Patty's day then by getting a nice new green lawn! Though the process started Monday with a mountain of dirt delivered to our back yard.Add a fairy garden by Caiti and Torrie, and the back yard is complete. And here is me and Ty enjoying our holiday outfits. (Ty's says Handsome Irish Boy)And of course the long awaited belly shot. You don't get as many pictures of the second one. Probably because how much bigger you get. I think I was almost this big when Ty was born.

"Loki" update

Here are the latest ultra sound pictures of "Loki" I have a ton of them. The technician said she wished all babies were this photogenic. She apologized for being a little "click happy". I thought it was just fine. I love seeing the pictures.I think he is so cute already! This is my favorite. And of course the drama King pose.I'm so lucky with the ultra sounds I got. Though, he did get a little lecture on the way there from dad to be cooperative. Apparently he decided to listen.

Ty day to day

Here are some more recent pictures of Ty, from just a couple weeks ago. (now that I'm more caught up.) He loves to play in the cupboards while I'm making dinner. It's very cute, but not always very convenient.

And here is Ty showing he is the same size as a dinosaur footprint.

Ty has taken about 5 slow and deliberate steps on 2 different occasions, and always when I'm not there to see it :( He loves to talk to people on the phone (or yell at them) swims in the bath tub (kicks and everything) and laughs the biggest belly laugh when playing with his daddy or getting licked to death by Mousse (our lab). He's not attached to any blankie or toy, just his baby spoons and his binki. The binki he now has to give up in order to get out of his crib (though his dad is more of a stickler about it than me and he knows it) and he loves to have one spoon in each hand, even while he's crawling around the house. He now runs to the door to greet me as soon as I come home from work and wants to go outside. He brightens up my day and sleeps through the night, which also brightens up my day. He makes me laugh constantly and is the cutest little boy in the whole world.
