These are a few of my favorite things!

I have a very opinionated son with clear favorites, so I thought I would share what some of those favorites are.
One of Tyler's favorite things is laying flat in his crib and watching his mobile go round and round. Just don't let it stop or you'll hear about it.This is his new swing his Aunt Christy let him borrow. We had a little swing but he hated it. He loves this big one with the mobile to watch and the cool rainforest sounds it makes.
That is also his favorite binki that he is munching in that picture as well. He also likes to chew his binki like a cigar.
Though he is starting to find his fingers as you'll see in his next favorite.
He has discovered the out doors, and LOVES it! I'm now putting his bouncer out on the porch and be bounces away while chewing on his fingers and his blankie. It's handy for being able to make dinner because I'm close by and he's happy as can be.
Tied for first place, oddly enough, is his changing pad. I think because it makes such cool noises when he moves around on it, he is so smiley and so wiggly on his changing pad. It's so cute!!
Also first place is his bath. He has started to splash and loves getting mom and the kitchen soaked!!

First Date after Tyler

Jared and I got to go out on our first date after the birth of our son this last Saturday. It was so much fun. Helped by the fact that we got to leave Tyler with someone we trust, Jared's Aunt Kate, I was able to leave Tyler for a few hours with only a little anxiety. Though he did join us for the beginning of our date which was getting to eat out at Applebee's with a gift card we got for Christmas (thanks Mark and family!). Then we dropped Ty off and headed to Theater 168 to see Jesters. They are an improv comedy group that is family friendly. It was hilarious! I was doubled over laughing at parts. It was also fun because I knew two of the performers (Brandon and Preston) and because we met KaLee and Steph and a huge group of old friends for KaLee's birthday. One of the last skits they did was all to make fun of KaLee and her feeding the stray cats, dating her cousin Brandon and their family tree that is shaped like a wreathe, and how she works only one day a week at a cabinet shop. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to going again some day. Even taking Ty one day because it was very kid friendly. If anyone needs a good night out idea, there you go, Jesters, I highly recommend it.

Weekend at Grandma's

We spent this last President's Day weekend over at my parents house and decided it was time to shoot some portraits of our cute little two month old.

We took tons of pictures and I wish I could post them all, but they take forever to load, and blogger probably wouldn't appreciate that.

They turned out really well, except that the sun would not cooperate, imagine that. I still think they are priceless however and can't wait to develop some and plug them into the scrapbook made for me at my baby shower.

We also put him back in his blessing outfit and took some pictures of him. He was blessed in the same blanket Jared was blessed in, which is the blanket he is laying on in these pictures.

We took a whole backpack of cute clothes to put him in, and we only made it through a few before he was too tired to want to take more pictures. This outfit is one of my favorites, he looks so good in stripes and this onezie looks like a big boy shirt to me and is just so cute!

Here is when he is starting to get a bit tired and cranky. :( Good thing Dad is there to soothe and put him to bed.

On Sunday we went to the park with my mom and Becca. Tyler is definitely an outdoor boy, he loved being outside and watching the trees.

(Doesn't dad look nice in his new fancy shirt from JC Penny's? It was a whopping $2.97)

He also got to swing for the first time with mommy.

And go down his first slide with daddy. Daddy, of course, took him down the tallest slide possible, once again illustrating the great difference between Tyler's over cautious, protective mom and his fun loving dad. At least he'll have balance in his life.

Hopefully I haven't overloaded you all with pictures, but I had to share some of these super cute photos. I guess I aught to learn how to add slide shows to my blog.

Tyler's Blessing

Tyler was blessed yesterday, February 8. My mom made his outfit which was so cute. She did a great job. Jared was a little nervous giving his first baby blessing, but it was a beautiful blessing and it was fun getting together with all the family.
Jared's parents and sister came up for the blessing, and his sister in law with her four boys. I love this picture where I caught the end of a smile.

We also had all my family there (except my sister and brother in law) and a bunch of friends as well. Of course, however, I did not take enough pictures, these were taken late in the evening. Course it doesn't help that right after the blessing I was waiting for him to wake up and when he did he messed on his outfit so he got changed out of it. (which was good because he had an even bigger accident about 20 minutes later)

At least I got these pictures, and I may put him back in his outfit today and take a couple portraits as well, but we'll see if we have time. Anyway, the whole day was a blast surrounded by family and friends (around 45 people). Life just doesn't get better than that.
